MINUTES OF THE POLICY COMMITTEE MEETING OF THE BOARD OF LIBRARY TRUSTEES OF THE PALATINE PUBLIC LIBRARY DISTRICT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS, HELD AT THE PALATINE PUBLIC LIBRARY, 700 N. NORTH COURT, PALATINE, IN SAID DISTRICT AT 9:00 A.M. ON DECEMBER 5, 2006

CALL TO ORDER

The meeting came to order at 9:10 a.m.

ROLL CALL

HHUpon roll call, Trustees Barnes and Heggem, Director Armstrong, Marcy Rodriguez and Diane Comen were present.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

The minutes of the November 29, 2006 meeting were reviewed and approved.

POLICY DISCUSSION

Internet Policy – The Committee reviewed comments on the proposed Internet Policy received from Trustees. The proposed Policy was revised reflecting some of this input and the resulting discussions. The revised document will be distributed to the Board for discussion at the December 13, 2006 meeting. At the next meeting the Committee will begin considering a policy regarding weapons in Library facilities. Director Armstrong will research policies from other libraries on this topic.

NEXT MEETING DATE

The date for the next meeting was set for January 3, 2007 at 9:00 a.m.

The meeting adjourned at 11:10 a.m.
