MINUTES OF THE POLICY COMMITTEE MEETING OF THE BOARD OF LIBRARY TRUSTEES OF THE PALATINE PUBLIC LIBRARY DISTRICT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS, HELD AT THE PALATINE PUBLIC LIBRARY, 700 N. NORTH COURT, PALATINE, IN SAID DISTRICT AT 9:00 A.M. ON JANUARY 16, 2007

CALL TO ORDER

The meeting came to order at 9:10 a.m.

ROLL CALL

HHUpon roll call, Trustees Barnes and Heggem, Director Armstrong and Assistant Director Marcy Rodriguez were physically present.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

The minutes of the January 10, 2007 meeting were reviewed and amended to note that all in attendance were physically present. The amended minutes were then approved.

POLICY DISCUSSION

Weapons and hazardous materials policy – The Committee reviewed and revised the policies drafted by Director Armstrong relevant to weapons, hazardous materials, hazardous behavior and animals. Director Armstrong reported on his meeting with Officer Mathew Taylor of the Palatine Police Department. Director Armstrong will revise the draft policies and send them out to the Committee.

Board Handbook – The Committee discussed the need for the development of a Board Handbook. Director Armstrong will send out a proposed table of contents for such a handbook that the Committee will discuss at the next meeting.

NEXT MEETING DATE

The date for the next meeting was set for January 30, 2007 at 9:00 a.m.

ADJOURNMENT

The meeting adjourned at 11:25 a.m.
