Jan Brett was born on December 1, 1949 and currently lives in the seaside town of Norwell, Massachusetts. By the age of 6, Ms. Brett knew exactly what she wanted to be when she grew up: a children’s book illustrator! That dream came true in 1981 when her first book was published; dozens of other books soon followed.
