Reagan Dean, a fourth-grader, recently donated six books to the Library collection after receiving a donation from a generous couple at her church.
A couple from their congregation, First Presbyterian Church of Arlington Heights, was inspired by “Pay it Forward” stories they had seen on TV and were moved to give $25 to each child in their fourth and fifth grade Sunday school class. They asked only that the kids use their money to “Pay it Forward” to someone else and show they decided to use their money.
Reagan thought about helping the Palatine Library by adding some more books to the collection. Reagan’s mother, Kelly, suggested purchasing Spanish language books.
Reagan received $25 to help her with her goal. She went to a local bookstore and was able to get six books. The books are various children titles, from board books to easy readers. These books will be added to our collection and circulating shortly.
During this season of giving, Reagan’s donation reminds us all to help and serve our community. Thank you for paying it forward to the Palatine Library.
