Gold Medal Picture Books: Storytime Prize Giveaways to Celebrate the Caldecott Medal
Join us as we celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Caldecott Medal with special prize giveaways at all storytime programs during the week of January 28 - February 2, at the Main Library and the Branches.
The Caldecott Medal was named in honor of nineteenth-century English illustrator Randolph Caldecott. It is awarded annually by the Association for Library Service to Children, a division of the American Library Association, to the artist of the most distinguished American picture book for children published in the previous year.
The winner of the 75th Caldecott Medal will be announced on Tuesday, January 29.
Every child who attends a Library storytime during our celebration week will get a ticket for a prize drawing which will be held at the end of the storytime. Children with winning tickets will choose a Caldecott medal book for their very own.
We will also be celebrating this 75th anniversary in May, during Children's Book Week, with special programs and more prize giveaways.
