Legal Notice - Invitation to Bid for First Floor Renovation

The Palatine Public Library District will receive sealed bids at the Palatine Public Library District Administration Office until 12:00 noon, on Tuesday, February 5, 2013, for the furnishing of all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to construct the specified improvements. Bid bond or certified cashier’s check in the amount of 5% of the contract total must be submitted with sealed bid.

Description

Renovations to the first floor of the existing library, along with related work including miscellaneous renovations on the second floor and garage levels of the Main Library building.

Anticipated Start Date

February 18, 2013

Required Completion Date

Project Completion May 17, 2013

Document Availability

The bidding forms and documents will be available at 12:00 noon, on Monday, January 14, 2013 at PR2 Blueprint, 5100 Newport Drive, Suite 1, Rolling Meadows, IL 60008; 847-398-5855. Bidding forms and documents are also available online at: http://centuryplans.com. The fee for the forms and documents will be based on the cost of printing and delivery from PR2 Blueprint at the bidders’ cost.  Proposals must be submitted on the forms provided.  No bidding forms and documents will be issued to bidders after 5:00 p.m., Monday, January 21, 2013.

Pre-Bid Meeting

A mandatory pre-bid meeting and walkthrough will be held at the Palatine Public Library at 700 North Court, Palatine, IL 60067 at 9:15 a.m. on Monday, January 21, 2013. A prospective bidder failing to attend the pre-bid meeting and walkthrough will be disqualified from bidding.

Bid Opening

Said bids will be received up to the hour of 12:00 noon; CST, on Tuesday, February 5, 2013, at the Palatine Public Library, office of the Assistant Director Anthony Auston, 700 N. North Court, Palatine, Illinois 60067, and will be publicly opened and read aloud in the adjacent Board Room at that time.

Note: The successful bidder shall be required to comply with all applicable Federal, State, and local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations including, but not limited to, the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS 130/1 et seq.) and the Illinois Human Rights Act (775 ILCS 5/1-101 et seq.)  All bidders must provide with their bids an executed Certification of Eligibility to Enter Into Public Contracts pursuant to the Illinois Criminal Code (720 ILCS 5/33E-11).

Questions and Clarifications

All questions and clarification requests must be submitted in writing to the Architect Tilton, Kelly + Bell, LLC at kscholtes [at] tiltonkellybell [dot] com by close of business on January 23, 2013.  An addendum will be issued only if it is determined that a change must be made to the documents.
