Personal Safety, Family Safety, Neighborhood Safety: How?

Posted by: GwenythU | Posted on: Jan 31 2012

How can you keep yourself and your family safe at home, in your neighborhood, and in the wider world? What preparations can you make in advance? How should you respond to emergency situations?

Officer Todd Holtz of the Palatine Police Department will present a program on safety at the Palatine Public Library on Wednesday, February 15 at 7:00 p.m.

Officer Holtz says, "We will be discussing personal safety habits and ways of keeping yourself safe, and methods of securing your home.  I will also present information about Neighborhood Watch programs and how you and your neighbors can work together to keep your families safe."

A question and answer period will follow the presentation, and a display of Library books on related topics will be available for checkout.

This program is part of the Library's February 2012 ONE BOOK series, featuring speakers on the themes in the novel ROOM by Emma Donoghue. Register online or by phone at 847-358-5881, ext. 132.
