Thanksgiving Week Events at Palatine Library
The Thanksgiving holiday usually means a school-free week so we've planned a slew of activities at the Library for children and families. Bring your little gobblers to one of our locations for stories, games, crafts and all around fun.
Chicago Bears Mascot Staley Da Bear
Monday, November 19
1:00 – 1:45 p.m.
Mascot Staley Da Bear and his emcee visit the Library to talk about his two favorite things: football and reading! Tickets will be available to valid District cardholders. Grades K-6.
Thanksgiving Craft Day
Monday, November 19
10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Gobble-up some fun and stop in to make a Thanksgiving craft.
Story and Craft with Cha Cha the Treefrog
Tuesday, November 20
11:00 – 11:45 a.m.
Cha Cha the Treefrog, the mascot from Rainforest Café, will visit the Library to read stories, teach about the rainforest, and help everyone make a fun frog craft. Bring your camera for photos with this lovable character! Ages 2-10.
Tween Book Share
Wednesday, November 21
2:00 – 3:00 p.m.
Do you enjoy reading books nominated for the Bluestem or Caudill Awards? Chat with other eager readers while enjoying refreshments and tie-in activities. Attendees will be entered into a drawing to win books on these lists. Grades 3-6.
Annual Pajama Party
Wednesday, November 21
7:00 – 7:45 p.m.
Children of all ages grab a pillow or a blanket, put on your coolest pajamas and slippers, and join us for a special storytime. Milk and cookies will be served.
Winter Reading Fireside Reads
Monday, December 17 through Thursday, January 31
Join the Library’s Winter Reading Program, “Fireside Reads.” Read to earn local coupons and be entered into a drawing for prizes. All District cardholders age two through adult may sign up online with their own library card.
