Teen Advisory Board Teen Advisory Board will meet in December, January, and February. We will be meeting the second Monday of every month from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. To apply for TAB, pick up an application at any Library location. Looking for Youth Volunteers Volunteers are Needed to Help with the Summer Reading Program The Library is looking for student volunteers (grades 7-12) to help with the Summer Reading Program from June 1 through July 31. Volunteers will work approximately 2 hours each week. Applications will be available at all Library locations beginning Monday, April 12. Necesitamos Voluntarios para ayudar con el Programa de Lectura de Verano La Biblioteca está buscando estudiantes voluntarios (de séptimo al duodécimo grado) para ayudar con el Programa de Lectura de Verano. Cooking Demo Sunday, March 28, 2:00 - 3:30 p.m. Learn how to make delicious spring rolls with Executive Chef Thomas Bowman of Otom restaurant in Chicago. Find out what it’s like to work as a top chef in the industry. Register beginning Monday, March 1. "Acts of Green" Teen Service Project Saturday, April 17, 9:00 a.m. - Noon Celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Earth Day by volunteering at Palatine’s Deer Grove Forest Preserve in a restoration project. We will work with the Deer Grove Natural Areas Volunteer group through the Cook Country Forest Preserve District. You’ll enjoy a short nature walk, learn about Deer Grove and its history, and find out how to identify local and invasive plant species. Tools and gloves are provided, but dress for weather and off -trail work. Register beginning Thursday, April 1.
Monday, April 26, 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. Share about your favorite nonfiction reads over pizza, find out about the latest new nonfiction and "Best of 2009," and participate in a survey for teens. Register beginning Thursday, April 1.
