We are thrilled to announce and invite the public to celebrate the unveiling of the new StoryWalk® Project—a permanent, outdoor storybook—at Hamilton Reservoir, located at 1037 N. Smith Street, in Palatine, on Wednesday, June 6, 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.
StoryWalk® Project is an interactive and delightful way for the whole family to enjoy reading while participating in an outdoor activity together. Join us for a ribbon-cutting ceremony, and stay to walk the path while sponsors share the story: How Rocket Learned to Read, by Tad Hills. Pages of the story are displayed in permanent panels on the path and guide you through the story from beginning to end. This installation was created to provide one more way for children and adults to be inspired to cultivate a love of reading and pursue a healthy activity together!
StoryWalk® Project is made possible by a partnership with Gold Sponsors: Palatine Public Library District, Palatine Library Foundation, Palatine Park District, and Friends of Palatine Library. Special thanks to Silver Sponsors: Allied Air Conditioning & Heating Corp.; Lenora Berendt; Garfield’s Beverage, Palatine; Rotary Club of Palatine; and Signs by Tomorrow, Arlington Heights. The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. Storywalk® is a registered service mark owned by Ms. Ferguson.
