Visit the New StoryWalk® at Hamilton Reservoir

StoryWalk Project opened on Wednesday, June 6 at Hamilton Reservoir in Palatine.

Crowds enjoyed a storytime read by Palatine Library staff, then walked the path to read the story How Rocket Learned to Read by Tad Hills.

This delightful idea combines early literacy learning and family engagement outdoors for the whole community to experience.

Each panel tells part of the story with an extra activity or question which encourages the children’s imagination and critical thinking. The whole activity takes about 20 minutes and is a permanent installation at Hamilton Reservoir.

Palatine Library is proud to bring this project to the community and promote reading and literacy in new and fun ways!

Photos of the event are on our Flickr page.
