Spaces to Play

Hang out with your toddlers safely in their very own space, the Early Literacy Area, featuring interactive learning toys. We also have tablets with fun, age-appropriate games and apps.

Older kids can play video games in the Teen Lounge.

Spaces to Learn

We have a collection of computers dedicated to users 13 and under, supervised by friendly and helpful staff. Kids 11 and up can use our Digital Media Center to work on videos, music, and other creative projects. 

Eight study rooms are available for everyone at the Main Library. If you have a Palatine Library card, we recommend that you make a reservation in advance. They fill up fast!

Museum Adventure Pass

Get discounts and passes to more than a dozen participating destinations with a Museum Adventure Pass. Visit the library to check out a pass. Call the Reader Assistance Desk for more information: 847-358-5881 ext. 132.

Offers vary per museum. Passes are restricted to valid Palatine cardholders.

Reading Programs

Sign up for our 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program to help prepare your young child for school.  


Check out STEM Kits and explore a variety of science, technology, engineering, and math topics. Kits include hands-on activities, learning games, or scientific equipment.
