Palatine Library Foundation supports the mission and activities of Palatine Library by raising funds to support the Library's current needs. Foundation members work closely with the Library's Executive Director to identify projects that fit the community and staff goals.
StoryWalk® Project A significant initiative is the StoryWalk® Project, which involves the installation of a series of permanent panels that display a story at the Hamilton Reservoir in Palatine. The Foundation is thrilled to partner with other local businesses and organizations to provide a place where families can enjoy reading while participating in an outdoor activity together.
In the Summer of 2021, a new book, Señorita Mariposa by Ben Gundersheimer, was the fourth story installed since the project started in 2018.
Made possible by a partnership with Palatine Library Foundation, Palatine Library District, Palatine Park District, and many generous donors.
The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. StoryWalk® is a registered service mark owned by Ms. Ferguson.
