About This Event
By 1960s standards, Margaret Ryan is living the American woman's dream. She has a husband, three children, a station wagon, and a home in Concordia—an exclusive suburb. So why doesn't it feel like enough? Margaret is intrigued when she first meets Charlotte Gustafson, Concordia's newest resident. As an excuse to be in her orbit, Margaret concocts a book club and invites two other neighborhood women to the inaugural meeting. These four friends have no idea that the books they read together will become the glue that holds them fast—through tears, triumphs, angst, and arguments—in what will prove to be the most consequential year of their lives. Available April 4.
