You may also submit a paper application, available at all Library locations. Some opportunities require a special application (as noted below).

Volunteers need a valid Palatine Public Library District card and must commit to volunteering a minimum of 15 hours for most positions (except special programs or events).  

Opportunities for Adults

Homebound Delivery Volunteer

Location: Main Library Date/Time:  Wednesday/one time per month 

Duration:  Long Term

Support the Adult Services Department by delivering books to our homebound members. Must possess a valid drivers license, insurance and be able to use your own vehicle to make deliveries. This opportunity involved having to lift/carry up to 25 pounds.

Summer Volunteer Program - for grades 9-12

Teen Advisory Board (TAB) - for grades 9-12

The Teen Advisory Board (TAB) meets monthly during the school year and members assist at various programs throughout the year.  Applicants must be in grades 9-12 to become a member.  Applications are available August 1-15.

Friday Fun - for teens grades 6-8

October 7: Choose Kind Service Project 4:00 -5:00 p.m. Help the library prepare materials for an interactive display of quotes and affirmations in November. Volunteer credit available.
