You may also submit a paper application, available at all Library locations. Some opportunities require a special application (as noted below).

Volunteers need a valid Palatine Public Library District card and must commit to volunteering a minimum of 15 hours.  

Opportunities for Adults

Library Greeter 

Location: Main Library

Date/Time:  Limited weekday morning and evening hours

Duration:  Ongoing or Short-Term

Greet library visitors at the front entrance and provide directions during our renovation.   Volunteer must commit to volunteering at least 2 hours or more each week.  This opportunity requires standing at a podium for two hours.  Several opportunities available.  Students ages 14-18 may apply for this volunteer position for a short-term (15 hours or more).

Teen Advisory Board (TAB) - for grades 9th-12th

The Teen Advisory Board (TAB) meets monthly during the school year and members assist at various programs throughout the year.  Applicants must be in grades 9-12 to become a member.  Applications are available August 1-15

Tween Advisory Group (TAG) - for grades 5th-8th

The Tween Advisory Group (TAG) meets monthly during the school year on Saturdays between 2:00 - 3:00 p.m.  Enjoy a fun activity and give input for library services, displays, programs, and collections.  Each month features a different activity.  Sign-up two weeks before the date on the library events calendar or click the link below.   No application required.
