What do I need?

First, you'll need your design, and that design should have a clear cut line if the project requires a complex contour cut. Please set up a one on one appointment to take the next steps on completing your project. We can offer support in various design software and offer a variety of classes designed to get you started.

There are a few things to keep in mind when setting up your design for use on the Roland:

  • Set up your workspace with a width of 18 inches to account for margins and preferably no longer than 2FT at a time.
  • Be sure photographs are a high enough resolution that you don't lose quality if you'll be scaling them up for bigger prints for use on apparel. (A resolution of 300 is best for printing pictures)
  • Vector graphics will always come out the clearest, so we suggest to design logos and more using a vector software like Inkscape or Illustrator.
  • When creating cut lines, be sure that the cut line is a stroke line that's easy to see like red so that we can easily show you how convert it to the correct type of cut line later for VersaWorks.
