Maker in Residence Application Form

The Workshop at Palatine Library invites local artists, inventors, and creators to apply for our Maker-in-Residence program!

This three-month paid residency gives makers the opportunity to develop their own projects, connect with the public, and lead hands-on programs that celebrate creativity and lifelong learning.

In 2026, we’d like you to join us as we celebrate five years of making! The Workshop at Palatine Library is looking for local makers and artists to help us celebrate. Throughout summer and early fall 2026, we’ll host a special skill-sharing series featuring individuals who love to create and share their work.

You can apply below for a three-month paid Maker-in-Residence or a shorter guest artist spot.

Selected makers will have a chance to:

  • Work on a personal or community project
  • Share their process during drop-in hours or open house days
  • Lead one or more public programs or workshops

We welcome all kinds of creative backgrounds, including sewing, woodwork, digital design, art, crafts, film, and more. Please apply by February 20, 2026.
